Qila and the Snow
Qila woke
up that morning with her mother shouting at her. There was colder than usual
and it was going quite hard getting up.
-Qila get
up immediately. It snowed last night! – cried her mother, distressed.
Qila,
trying to open her eyes took a fast look through the window and saw all in
white what it was covered of green the day before. It had snowed. What a
terrible new! They weren’t expecting snow in 3 or 4 weeks yet.
-You and
your siblings are going outside right after breakfast. We need to get as much
food as we can now before the other ones get it. C’mon, girl, get up!
-Where is
dad…?
-He and the
others are trying to put the apples under cover before the snow ruin them. Get
up!
She dressed
up, and got ready for breakfast. She and her siblings filled their pockets with
some seeds, put on their coats and scarves, took their baskets and got out the
borrow. It was cold and still dark outside. More than white, snow looked all in
a pale but deep blue. They got inside the forest, trying to push away that soft
white thing in every step. Hopefully there were only a few leaves left on the
trees, so the naked branches let the light come through them.
This one is the last bookmark I made for the collection. It's called Quila and the Snow because I wrote a story for this illustration. I haven't finished yet, but I guess I'll do it soon. Yu can find the whole boormarks collection in my etsy shop or send me a message if you want to get them.
